General Grievous is a major antagonist in the Star Wars saga, first appearing in the *Star Wars: Clone Wars* animated series. He is a Kaleesh cyborg, Supreme Commander of the Droid Armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.

Born Qymaen jai Sheelal on the planet Kalee, he was a skilled warrior who fought against the Republic-backed Huk. After a devastating shuttle crash orchestrated by Count Dooku, his shattered body was rebuilt with cybernetic enhancements, making him more machine than man.

Grievous became a fearsome lightsaber duelist, trained by Dooku in the art of combat. He collected lightsabers from the Jedi he defeated, using them in his battles against the Republic. His primary goal was to crush the Republic and establish the Separatist Confederacy as the dominant power in the galaxy.
