Dr. Curt Connors, also known as the Lizard, is a Marvel Comics character who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #6 in 1963. A gifted biologist and war veteran who lost his right arm, Connors dedicated his life to researching reptilian limb regeneration, hoping to unlock the secrets of regrowing lost limbs.
Through experimentation, Connors developed a serum using reptile DNA. In a desperate attempt to restore his arm, he injected himself with the serum. While successful in regrowing his limb, the serum had a horrific side effect: it transformed him into a monstrous, reptilian humanoid, the Lizard.
The Lizard possesses superhuman strength, speed, and agility, as well as razor-sharp claws and teeth. He retains some of Connors' intellect, but often is driven by primal instincts. He is a recurring foe of Spider-Man, frequently battling with Peter Parker as he tries to cure himself and control the Lizard persona.
