Dr. Curtis Connors, better known as the Lizard, is a Marvel Comics character who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #6 in November 1963.
Connors, a brilliant biologist, lost his right arm in a war. Driven to regenerate it, he experimented with reptile DNA, succeeding in growing it back. However, the experiment had unforeseen consequences. Connors transformed into a reptilian monster known as the Lizard.
As the Lizard, Connors possesses superhuman strength, speed, and durability. He also has sharp claws and teeth, a prehensile tail, and a regenerative healing factor. Though occasionally retaining Connors' intellect, the Lizard is often driven by primal reptilian instincts, making him a formidable foe for Spider-Man.
