Biography:

Ghost Rider is a Marvel Comics character who first appeared in Marvel Spotlight #5 (August 1972). Though several characters have taken on the mantle, the most well-known is Johnny Blaze.

Johnny Blaze made a deal with the demon Mephisto to save the life of his adoptive father, Crash Simpson. As a result, Blaze was bound to the Spirit of Vengeance, transforming him into Ghost Rider at night or in the presence of evil.

As Ghost Rider, Blaze is a skeletal figure wreathed in hellfire. He possesses superhuman strength and durability, and can summon a Hellcycle. One of his signature abilities is the Penance Stare, which forces wrongdoers to experience all the pain they have inflicted on others.
