Brian Braddock, more famously known as Captain Britain, is a Marvel Comics superhero. Chosen by Merlyn and Roma, mystical protectors of Otherworld, Brian was granted incredible powers by choosing the Amulet of Righteousness over the Sword of Might.
Initially, his abilities were dependent on his proximity to the British Isles, but this limitation was eventually lifted. His powers include superhuman strength, speed, stamina, flight, and a force field that protects him from harm. He wears a distinctive costume emblazoned with the Union Jack flag.
Captain Britain has been a member of various superhero teams, including Excalibur, a team primarily based in the UK composed of mutants and other heroes.
