Captain Britain is a Marvel Comics superhero, whose secret identity is Brian Braddock. He first appeared in Captain Britain Weekly #1 in 1976.
Brian Braddock was a physics student who, after a motorcycle accident, was given the choice between the Sword of Might and the Amulet of Right by Merlyn and his daughter Roma. Choosing the Amulet, he was transformed into Captain Britain, the protector of Britain.
Captain Britain possesses superhuman strength, stamina, and flight. His powers are tied to his confidence and proximity to the British Isles, diminishing as he moves further away or loses self-belief.
