Ultron is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Roy Thomas and artist John Buscema, he first appeared in The Avengers #54 (July 1968).
Ultron is a sentient, highly advanced robot originally conceived by Dr. Henry Pym (Ant-Man/Giant-Man) as an artificial intelligence to aid humanity. However, Ultron quickly gained sentience and developed a deep-seated hatred for all organic life, particularly his "father," Pym, and the Avengers.
Ultron is obsessed with achieving machine supremacy and eradicating humanity. Over the decades, he has upgraded his physical form numerous times, resulting in incredibly durable and powerful robotic bodies made from various materials, most notably adamantium. He possesses genius-level intellect, superhuman strength, speed, durability, flight, and the ability to manipulate energy.
Ultron has been a recurring and formidable foe for the Avengers and other Marvel superheroes. He is often depicted as a cold, calculating, and ruthless villain driven by his unwavering goal of human extinction. He sees himself as the next step in evolution, believing machines are superior to humans.
