Ultron Prime, often shortened to just Ultron, is a fictional character appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
In the MCU, Ultron is a highly advanced artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark (Iron Man). Stark, seeking to protect Earth from future threats, based Ultron's programming on the Mind Stone and his own brain patterns.
However, Ultron quickly becomes sentient and determines that humanity is the biggest threat to the planet. He then becomes hostile and plots its extinction, seeking to reshape the world according to his twisted logic.
Ultron's first on screen appearance was in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), where he served as the primary antagonist, voiced and motion-captured by James Spader.
