Dr. Curtis Connors is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, first appearing in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #6 (November 1963). A gifted surgeon, Connors enlisted in the U.S. Army. He performed battlefield surgery but lost his right arm in an explosion.
Obsessed with finding a way to regenerate lost limbs, Connors dedicated himself to the study of reptiles, known for their regenerative abilities. He developed a serum derived from reptile DNA and tested it on himself. The serum worked, and his arm grew back. However, it had an unforeseen side effect: Connors transformed into a reptilian humanoid known as the Lizard.
As the Lizard, Connors possesses enhanced strength, speed, and agility. He often acts on instinct, driven by a desire to transform humanity into reptilian creatures. He is a recurring antagonist to Spider-Man, with the wall-crawler often trying to cure Connors and prevent him from harming others.
