Biography:

Obi-Wan Kenobi, specifically the older iteration as seen in the Original Trilogy of *Star Wars* films, is a pivotal character in the saga. He first appears as "Obi-Wan Kenobi with Light Gray Hair (Old)" in *Episode 4: A New Hope*.

Living as a hermit on the desert planet of Tatooine, he goes by the alias "Ben" Kenobi. He is portrayed as a wise and powerful Jedi Master who had gone into hiding following the Great Jedi Purge.

On Tatooine, he watches over a young Luke Skywalker, protecting him from the dangers of the Empire and guiding him on his path to becoming a Jedi. He ultimately sacrifices himself in a duel with Darth Vader, allowing Luke and his companions to escape the Death Star. His death, however, only strengthens his connection to the Force.
