The Cybermen created by Cybus Industries are a parallel universe variant of the iconic Doctor Who villains. In the Earth of Pete Tyler's world, the brilliant, but morally ambiguous, inventor John Lumic develops a technology to "upgrade" humanity, believing it the solution to their weaknesses.

Lumic's company, Cybus Industries, covertly implants people with brain chips, allowing them to be controlled and converted into Cybermen. This conversion process involves removing the individual's emotions and replacing organic components with mechanical parts, resulting in a cold, emotionless cyborg.

Unlike the Mondasian Cybermen who started as a species trying to survive, the Cybus Cybermen are driven by Lumic's twisted vision of perfection. They retain a slightly more human appearance, with visible faces behind their metal masks. Their directive is to "upgrade" the entire human race, forcing them into conversion. Lumic himself becomes the Cyber Controller, leading the army in their quest for forced evolution.

Ultimately, the Cybus Cybermen are defeated, but their technology and the threat of similar conversions remain a persistent danger throughout the Doctor Who universe.
