King Valkyrie, portrayed by Tessa Thompson, is a character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She first appeared in *Thor: Ragnarok*.
Formerly a Valkyrie warrior, she served Asgard until a devastating battle against Hela led to the near extinction of her order. This trauma forced her into self-imposed exile on Sakaar, where she became a scavenger and bounty hunter, known as Scrapper.
Valkyrie joins forces with Thor to escape Sakaar and ultimately helps defeat Hela. Following the destruction of Asgard, she becomes one of the leaders of the surviving Asgardians. In *Thor: Love and Thunder*, she is crowned King of New Asgard by Thor, taking on the responsibilities of leadership and protecting her people.
