Uchiha Obito was a member of Konohagakure's Uchiha clan during his childhood. He was initially known for his unwavering optimism and dream of becoming Hokage, qualities admired by his teammate Rin Nohara.

During the Third Shinobi World War, Obito seemingly perished while protecting Rin from an Iwagakure attack. He was crushed by a boulder after rescuing Kakashi Hatake, his teammate, and giving Kakashi his Sharingan as a going-away gift.

However, Obito was rescued by the elderly Madara Uchiha. Madara nursed Obito back to health and manipulated him into becoming his successor, exposing him to the harsh realities of the world and fueling his desire to create an ideal world through the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Under the alias "Tobi" and later masquerading as Madara Uchiha himself, Obito manipulated events, orchestrated the Fourth Shinobi World War, and served as a major antagonist in the Naruto series. Ultimately, he experienced a change of heart and aided the Allied Shinobi Forces against Madara before sacrificing himself to protect Naruto and his allies, seeking redemption for his past actions.
