Sub-Zero is a key character in the Mortal Kombat franchise, first appearing in the original Mortal Kombat game.
There have been two primary Sub-Zero characters. The first was Bi-Han, the older brother, who was killed by Scorpion in the first tournament. He was later resurrected as Noob Saibot.
The mantle of Sub-Zero was then taken up by his younger brother, Kuai Liang. This Sub-Zero is the one most commonly associated with the identity. He possesses the power to control ice, using it to create weapons and freeze opponents.
The younger Sub-Zero is depicted as a noble warrior, fighting to protect Earthrealm from various threats.
