Sub-Zero is a prominent character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise. There have been two primary characters who have taken on the mantle of Sub-Zero: Bi-Han and his younger brother Kuai Liang. Bi-Han, the original Sub-Zero, first appeared in the original Mortal Kombat game.

Bi-Han was a cold and ruthless assassin from the Lin Kuei clan. He was killed by Scorpion during the first Mortal Kombat tournament. He was then resurrected as the shadow ninja Noob Saibot.

Kuai Liang took on the Sub-Zero mantle in Mortal Kombat II after his brother's death. He is initially motivated by revenge for his brother's death, but later becomes a more heroic figure. He possesses the ability to control ice, allowing him to create weapons, freeze opponents, and teleport.

Both versions of Sub-Zero are central figures in the Mortal Kombat narrative, often playing a key role in the ongoing conflict between Earthrealm and Outworld, and the Lin Kuei's involvement.
