Biography:

Obi-Wan Kenobi, a legendary Jedi Master, first appears as an older, wiser figure in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977). Living in seclusion on the desert planet Tatooine under the alias "Ben Kenobi," he watches over a young Luke Skywalker.

He is instrumental in Luke's introduction to the Force and the ways of the Jedi. Obi-Wan reveals to Luke his true heritage and the history of the Jedi Order, presenting him with his father Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber.

Obi-Wan guides Luke on his initial steps toward becoming a Jedi and ultimately sacrifices himself during a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader, allowing Luke and his companions to escape the Death Star. He continues to mentor Luke as a Force ghost, providing guidance and support throughout the original trilogy.
