Sinestro is a character from DC Comics, primarily associated with the Green Lantern Corps. His first appearance was in Green Lantern (vol. 2) #7 in 1961.

Originally, Sinestro was considered the greatest of all Green Lanterns, a mentor to Hal Jordan. He hails from the planet Korugar. However, his methods of maintaining order on his home world, often through fear and oppression, led to his eventual downfall and expulsion from the Corps.

Driven by a desire for control, Sinestro forged his own yellow power ring powered by fear, becoming the leader of the Sinestro Corps, a group dedicated to spreading terror throughout the universe. He has been a constant foe of the Green Lantern Corps and a formidable adversary to Hal Jordan.
