Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics, first appearing in Detective Comics #66 (August 1942).
Before his disfigurement, Dent was the district attorney of Gotham City and a close ally of Batman and Commissioner Gordon, dedicated to fighting crime. He was known for his good looks and integrity, earning him the nickname "Apollo."
His transformation into Two-Face occurred when mob boss Sal Maroni threw acid at Dent during a trial. The attack scarred the left side of Dent's face, shattering his psyche. The trauma led him to develop a split personality, now making decisions based on a flip of his signature two-headed coin – one side pristine, the other scarred.
Two-Face becomes a major figure in Gotham's criminal underworld, obsessed with duality and chance. He often engages in crimes that reflect this obsession, offering victims a "fair" chance based on the coin flip. He is an enemy of Batman.
