Robert Bruce Banner, PhD, is the Marvel character known as the Hulk. A brilliant physicist specializing in gamma radiation, Banner's life changed irrevocably during an experimental detonation. While attempting to save teenager Rick Jones from the blast radius of a gamma bomb he created, Banner absorbed a massive dose of gamma radiation.
