Clint Barton, portrayed by Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), adopted the persona of Ronin following the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War. His first appearance as Ronin was in Avengers: Endgame. The loss of his family during Thanos's snap deeply impacted him, leading him down a path of violent vigilantism.
As Ronin, Barton abandoned his Hawkeye identity and targeted organized crime syndicates across the globe. He wielded a sword and other weapons, operating outside the law to deliver what he perceived as justice.
