Clint Barton, portrayed by Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first appeared as Hawkeye in a cameo role in Thor (2011).
Following the Blip in Avengers: Endgame, where half of all life in the universe was eradicated, Clint Barton adopted the persona of Ronin. Overcome with grief due to the loss of his family, he became a brutal vigilante.
As Ronin, Barton abandoned his bow and arrows in favor of a katana and other bladed weapons. He systematically hunted down and eliminated individuals associated with organized crime syndicates, particularly those responsible for the suffering and exploitation of innocent people in the aftermath of the Blip.
