Trunks is a pivotal character in the Dragon Ball Z anime and manga series. He exists in two primary iterations: Future Trunks and Kid Trunks. Future Trunks, the first to appear, hails from a desolate alternate timeline ravaged by Androids and . He first appeared in Dragon Ball Z episode 119, "Frieza Defeated?! Another Super Saiyan".
Future Trunks travels to the past to seek help from Goku and the Z Fighters in preventing his timeline's catastrophic future. He possesses immense strength and the ability to transform into a Super Saiyan.
Kid Trunks is the Trunks of the main timeline, the son of Vegeta and Bulma. He is a playful and confident child, also capable of Super Saiyan transformation. He plays a significant role in later sagas alongside Goten, with whom he can fuse to become Gotenks.
