Biography:

Michael Morbius, also known as Morbius the Living Vampire, is a character from Marvel Comics. A brilliant biochemist, Morbius attempted to cure his rare blood disease through an experimental treatment involving vampire bat DNA and electroshock therapy.

This experiment tragically backfired, transforming him into a pseudo-vampire. While not undead, Morbius gained many vampiric traits, including a thirst for blood, superhuman strength and speed, and heightened senses. He also developed fangs and claws, and a sensitivity to sunlight. He often struggles with the monstrous nature of his transformation and attempts to control his bloodlust.

Morbius first appeared in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #101 (October 1971), during the Silver Age of comics.
