Dr. Michael Morbius, a biochemist, suffers from a rare blood disease. Desperate for a cure, he experimented with vampire bat DNA and electroshock therapy.
The experiment granted him superhuman abilities like enhanced strength, speed, and echolocation, but transformed him into a living vampire.
Morbius requires blood to survive and is repulsed by sunlight. His appearance is altered, giving him fangs, claws, and pale skin.
While often portrayed as a villain, Morbius sometimes uses his powers for good, struggling to control his bloodlust and maintain his humanity. The character was introduced in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #101 in the Comic Silver Age.
