Michael Morbius, often known as Morbius, the Living Vampire, is a complex character in the Marvel Universe. Born with a rare blood disease, Morbius dedicated his life to finding a cure.
A brilliant biochemist, Morbius controversially experimented on himself using vampire bat DNA and electroshock therapy. While he partially cured his blood disorder, the process transformed him into a pseudo-vampire.
His transformation granted him enhanced strength, speed, and echolocation abilities, but also cursed him with a thirst for blood, forcing him to hunt to survive. He is technically not a true vampire, as his condition is scientific rather than supernatural in origin.
Morbius is often portrayed as an anti-hero, struggling with his monstrous nature and attempting to use his abilities for good while battling his primal urges. He has been both a hero and a villain, clashing with Spider-Man and other heroes while occasionally forming alliances with them.
