Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody was a highly accomplished and famously paranoid Auror, widely considered one of the greatest Dark wizard catchers of all time. His face was heavily scarred from battles, he possessed a magical prosthetic eye that could see through solid objects, and a wooden leg. These injuries were a testament to his dedication in fighting against Voldemort and his Death Eaters during the First Wizarding War.

Moody briefly taught Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts in Harry Potter's fourth year. Unbeknownst to almost everyone, this was actually Barty Crouch Jr. impersonating him using Polyjuice Potion. The real Moody was imprisoned by Crouch and only freed after Crouch's exposure.

After his harrowing ordeal, Moody remained a key figure in the reformed Order of the Phoenix, offering his strategic mind and formidable magical abilities to the fight against Voldemort. He played a vital role in protecting Harry Potter and coordinating efforts against the Dark Lord's growing power. Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody died during the Battle of the Seven Potters.
