Kamen Rider Black, also known as Kotaro Minami, is the main protagonist of the tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Black, which aired from 1987 to 1988. He and his foster brother, Nobuhiko Akizuki, were kidnapped on their 19th birthdays by the Gorgom, a monstrous cult.
The Gorgom sought to transform them into candidates to become their next Creation King. Kotaro was successfully modified into Kamen Rider Black, a powerful warrior bio-engineered to serve the Gorgom's evil purposes. He escaped before being brainwashed.
Driven by a desire for justice and to protect his loved ones, particularly his surrogate family, Kotaro wages war against the Gorgom organization. He is constantly pursued by his brother Nobuhiko, who was transformed into Shadow Moon, Kamen Rider Black's rival and destined opponent in a final battle to determine the next Creation King.
Kotaro, as Kamen Rider Black, fights to prevent the Gorgom from unleashing chaos upon the world and to rescue Nobuhiko from their control, even if it means facing his closest friend in a tragic conflict.
