Stephen Strange, portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon who suffers a career-ending injury.
Driven to find a cure, he seeks out the Ancient One in Kamar-Taj and becomes her student, mastering the mystic arts and becoming the Sorcerer Supreme. He's a key player in the MCU, responsible for protecting Earth from mystical threats.
In *Infinity War*, Doctor Strange possesses the Time Stone and foresees millions of possible futures, strategically aligning himself with the Avengers to combat Thanos. He ultimately surrenders the Time Stone to save Tony Stark's life, knowing it's the only path to victory, even if it means his own temporary demise from the Snap. He wears his signature Cloak of Levitation, also known as Mr. Cape.
His first MCU appearance was in the *Doctor Strange* movie (2016).
