Doctor Stephen Strange, a brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon, suffered a career-ending injury in a car accident. Desperate to heal, he sought mystical solutions and found enlightenment with the Ancient One, becoming the Sorcerer Supreme and protector of Earth against mystical threats.
In a divergent timeline glimpsed in "What If...?", Strange experienced a more profound and tragic loss: Christine Palmer's death. Unable to accept this outcome, he immersed himself in forbidden knowledge, absorbing mystical beings and growing in power to an unimaginable level. This version of Strange, often referred to as "Supreme Strange," donned a specialized suit that seemed adapted for navigating and manipulating the Quantum Realm and other realities.
His quest to prevent Christine's death led him to become a threat to the entire multiverse. Ultimately, he chose to imprison himself within his own fractured reality, forever guarding against the catastrophic consequences of his actions and immense power.
