Rory Williams is a fictional character from the British science fiction TV show *Doctor Who*. He first appeared in the episode "The Eleventh Hour" (2010), the first episode of the Matt Smith era.
Rory is introduced as Amy Pond's childhood friend and later becomes her husband. Initially a somewhat unassuming and ordinary nurse, Rory proves himself to be incredibly brave and loyal, repeatedly demonstrating his devotion to Amy and the Doctor.
