Reed Richards, better known as Mr. Fantastic, is a founding member of the Fantastic Four. He is a scientific genius with the ability to stretch, twist, and reshape his body at will.
Mr. Fantastic first appeared in *Fantastic Four* #1 (November 1961). This first issue of the comic book series from Marvel Comics by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby introduced the World to Reed Richards, his wife Sue Storm, her brother Johnny Storm and friend Ben Grimm.
Richards' powers were gained after exposure to cosmic rays during an unauthorized space flight. Driven by a thirst for knowledge and discovery, he often leads the Fantastic Four on adventures into the unknown.
