The CW's "Arrowverse" features several characters taking on the mantle of The Canary, a vigilante known for her martial arts skills and sonic scream.
The original Canary introduced is Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). A lawyer, she eventually trains to become a skilled fighter, inspired by the presumed-dead Sara Lance. After Sara's actual death, Laurel fully embraces the Canary identity, becoming a formidable protector of Star City.
Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Laurel's younger sister, precedes Laurel as a vigilante. Trained by the League of Assassins, Sara returns to Starling City as a highly trained fighter. While she operates in the shadows initially, she eventually becomes known as the Canary, wielding a sonic device. Sara later leaves Starling City to become the White Canary and leads the Legends of Tomorrow.
Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy) is another significant character to hold the Canary title. A detective with a metahuman sonic scream ability, she joins Team Arrow and becomes the Black Canary after Laurel's death. Dinah later leads her own team of vigilantes and continues to protect Star City.
