The Mouth of Sauron, also known as the Lieutenant of Barad-dûr, is a character from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. He serves as Sauron's herald and messenger, appearing before the Black Gate in "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King."
His origins are shrouded in mystery. It's believed he was a man of Númenórean descent who turned to the service of Sauron, rising through the ranks to become a trusted and formidable servant. The Mouth of Sauron is described as a tall, menacing figure clad in black armor, riding a monstrous horse. He's known for his cruel wit and mastery of deception.
His primary role is to parley with Aragorn and Gandalf before the Battle of the Morannon. He attempts to demoralize the leaders of the Free Peoples by presenting them with the sword, cloak, and vest of Frodo Baggins as proof of his capture.
