Impulse, also known as Bart Allen, is an impulsive speedster from the future in the DC universe. Created by Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo, he first appeared in The Flash #91 (June 1994).
Bart is the grandson of Barry Allen, the second Flash, and Iris West. Hailing from the 30th century, he suffered from accelerated aging. To prevent his death, Iris brought him to the past to be mentored by the then-current Flash, Wally West. Wally helped stabilize Bart's powers.
Living up to his name, Bart is known for his energetic and reckless behavior. Despite his immaturity, he's a good-hearted hero with immense potential. His speed abilities allow him to move at superhuman velocities and sometimes even manipulate time itself.
