Archangel, also known as Warren Worthington III, is a Marvel Comics superhero. He is a mutant, born with large, feathered wings that grant him the power of flight.
Initially, Warren was a member of the original X-Men, known then as Angel. He was a wealthy and popular young man who struggled to reconcile his normal life with his burgeoning mutant abilities.
During a particularly difficult period, Archangel was manipulated by Apocalypse and transformed into one of his Horsemen. This transformation drastically altered his physical appearance, replacing his feathered wings with metallic, razor-sharp ones. He was also psychologically altered, becoming more ruthless and violent.
Eventually, Warren regained control of his mind, but the transformation left a lasting impact. He continues to struggle with the darker aspects of his personality and powers, often wrestling with the legacy of Apocalypse's influence. Archangel has been a member of various X-Men teams and continues to fight for mutant rights.
