Warren Worthington III, also known as Archangel, is a mutant possessing large, feathered wings that grant him flight. Initially a member of the X-Men, Archangel underwent a radical transformation when he was captured by Apocalypse.
Apocalypse transformed Warren into Death, one of his Four Horsemen. This process replaced Warren's feathered wings with razor-sharp, metallic ones composed of techno-organic material, granting him new powers including firing projectiles. He also experienced a personality shift, becoming more violent and ruthless.
After regaining control of himself, Archangel joined X-Force, a proactive and morally ambiguous team led by Wolverine.
