Lando Calrissian, a charismatic gambler and entrepreneur, first appears in Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back, part of the Original Trilogy.
He is the Baron Administrator of Cloud City, a mining colony floating in the atmosphere of Bespin. Initially portrayed as a charming rogue, Calrissian is forced to betray his friend Han Solo to Darth Vader in order to protect the citizens of Cloud City from the Empire's wrath.
Despite his initial deal with the Empire, Lando experiences a change of heart. He ultimately redeems himself by helping Princess Leia and Chewbacca escape and joins the Rebel Alliance. This version of Lando Calrissian is often referred to as the "Galactic Scoundrel - Lando Calrissian (Cloud City)" due to his association with Bespin.
