Biography:
Jack Napier, later known as The Joker, is a fictional character appearing in the 1989 film "Batman." He is portrayed by Jack Nicholson.
Napier begins as a ruthless lieutenant to Gotham City mob boss Carl Grissom. During a confrontation at the Axis Chemical plant, he falls into a vat of chemical waste. This disfigures him, bleaching his skin white, turning his hair green, and leaving him with a permanent, grotesque smile.
Adopting the moniker "The Joker," he embraces his madness, becoming a flamboyant and homicidal criminal. He terrorizes Gotham with elaborate schemes and deadly Joker Gas, aiming to unleash chaos and dismantle the city's established order.
The Joker's actions are driven by a desire for attention and a warped sense of artistry. He sees his crimes as performance art, leaving a trail of death and destruction in his wake. His rivalry with Batman forms the central conflict of the film, culminating in a final showdown atop Gotham Cathedral.
Notably the character is associated with the 'Pad Printed' design aesthetic, especially in collectable miniature forms of The Joker based on the look in the movie Batman.
