Biography:

The Joker, a creation of DC Comics, is a supervillain primarily known as the archenemy of Batman.

His first appearance was in *Batman* #1 (April 25, 1940). He is commonly portrayed as a criminal mastermind, a homicidal maniac, and an agent of chaos. His appearance is distinctly marked by chalk-white skin, green hair, and a perpetual, Glasgow smile-like grin, often achieved with lipstick.

The Joker's origins are generally shrouded in mystery, with conflicting accounts of his past, often involving a fall into a vat of chemical waste. This event is usually attributed to him obtaining his look. He employs a variety of deadly weapons and gags, many of which are themed around a circus clown motif.

His motivations are diverse, ranging from a desire to prove that anyone can be driven insane to simply reveling in destruction and mayhem. He has been seen in multiple forms of media.
