Biography:

Luther Manning is Deathlok, a tragic figure in Marvel Comics.

Originally a U.S. Army Colonel, Manning was critically injured and subsequently resurrected as a cyborg – essentially a "Robo-Zombie" - by Simon Ryker. This transformation left him trapped in a powerful, cybernetic body against his will.

Deathlok's first appearance was in *Astonishing Tales* #25 (1974). He battles against his programming and those who control him, fighting to retain his humanity and free himself from his mechanical prison.

Over time, other characters have also become Deathlok, but Luther Manning remains the original and perhaps the most well-known iteration of the character.
