In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deathlok is the alias of Mike Peterson, portrayed by J. August Richards in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. His first appearance as Deathlok is in episode 16 of Season 1 "End of the Beginning".
Peterson, originally an ordinary man with enhanced strength from Project Centipede, is critically injured and subsequently rebuilt by S.H.I.E.L.D. under duress from Hydra, into a cyborg supersoldier dubbed Deathlok. He's given cybernetic enhancements including a bionic leg and various internal mechanisms.
He is initially controlled by Garrett and Hydra, but eventually regains some autonomy. Throughout the series, Peterson struggles with his programming and the moral implications of his actions while working to protect his son and assist S.H.I.E.L.D.
