Biography:
Voltron is the titular giant robot from the anime series Voltron Defender of the Universe. The robot is formed when five robotic lions, each piloted by a member of the Voltron Force, combine.
The concept of Voltron originated from two separate Japanese anime series: Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. Voltron Defender of the Universe, which premiered in September 1984, adapted GoLion for the "Lion Force Voltron" storyline.
In this iteration, the Voltron Force, consisting of Keith, Lance, Pidge, Hunk, and Sven (later replaced by Allura), pilot the five lions. When faced with insurmountable threats, they combine the lions to form Voltron, a powerful warrior robot used to defend the universe from evil.
