Biography:

Voltron, specifically Voltron Defender of the Universe, refers to a giant robot formed by five separate lion-shaped vehicles.

The concept debuted in the animated television series *Voltron Defender of the Universe* in 1984. Each lion is piloted by a member of the Voltron Force: Keith, Lance, Pidge, Hunk, and Princess Allura (later replaced by Coran).

When combined, they form the mighty Voltron, a powerful warrior used to defend the universe against evil forces, primarily those of King Zarkon and his Drule Empire.
