Biography:
Galactus is a cosmic entity in the Marvel Universe, known for his insatiable hunger and role as a devourer of worlds. He is not inherently evil, but rather a force of nature driven by necessity to consume planets to sustain his immense life force.
Originating from the destruction of the previous universe, Galactus was originally a humanoid named Galan from the planet Taa. He merged with the sentient essence of the dying universe, becoming a being of immense power with a perpetual need to consume energy.
Galactus's first appearance was in *Fantastic Four* #48 (March 1966) where he arrived on Earth, seeking to devour it. He is often accompanied by heralds, beings empowered to seek out suitable planets for him to consume, most notably the Silver Surfer.
As a being of cosmic scale, Galactus represents a fundamental force in the universe, constantly shifting the balance of power and challenging the heroes of the Marvel Universe.
