J'onn J'onzz, known as the Martian Manhunter, is a DC Comics superhero from the planet Mars. He is the last surviving Green Martian, having witnessed the fiery death of his race due to a psychic plague.

Telepathically brought to Earth by scientist Dr. Saul Erdel, J'onn was initially trapped. Eventually freeing himself, he used his shapeshifting abilities to assume the guise of Detective John Jones in Middletown, USA. He then fights crime as a detective and uses his powers to protect the innocent.

Martian Manhunter possesses a vast array of powers, including telepathy, telekinesis, shapeshifting, flight, super strength, Martian vision (heat vision), and density control. A key weakness is pyrophobia, a fear of fire, a lingering trauma from Mars’ destruction.

He is a founding member of the Justice League, serving as its heart and conscience. J'onn is often portrayed as a stoic and intelligent figure, deeply dedicated to justice and the protection of his adopted home, Earth.
