Martian Manhunter, also known as J'onn J'onzz, is a character appearing in the Arrowverse TV shows on The CW. He is a Green Martian from the planet Mars who arrived on Earth centuries before the main events of the shows.
He originally hid his true identity, posing as Hank Henshaw, the director of the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO). In this role, he worked closely with Supergirl to protect Earth from various threats. He first appeared as Hank Henshaw in the pilot episode of Supergirl.
Eventually, J'onn revealed his true Martian form and his past. He is portrayed as a wise and compassionate figure, often serving as a mentor to Supergirl and other heroes. He struggles with the loss of his people, who were wiped out in a civil war on Mars, but is determined to protect Earth.
