Count Dooku, a central figure in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and animated series The Clone Wars, was a former Jedi Master who became a Sith Lord. Born on the planet Serenno to a wealthy noble family, Dooku was identified as Force-sensitive and inducted into the Jedi Order at a young age.

He trained under Master Yoda, becoming a highly skilled swordsman and a respected Jedi Knight. Dooku eventually took Qui-Gon Jinn as his Padawan learner. Growing disillusioned with the Jedi Order's perceived corruption and the Galactic Republic's ineffectiveness, Dooku left the Order.

Dooku was then seduced by Darth Sidious (Emperor Palpatine) to the dark side of the Force, becoming his apprentice Darth Tyranus. He orchestrated the Separatist movement, leading the Confederacy of Independent Systems against the Republic during the Clone Wars. Dooku was ultimately betrayed and killed by Anakin Skywalker, under Sidious's instruction, to further corrupt Anakin towards the dark side.
