Count Dooku, first appearing in *Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones* (2002), was a former Jedi Master who fell to the dark side of the Force and became a Sith Lord.
Before his turn, he was a highly respected member of the Jedi Order, trained by Yoda and serving as a mentor to Qui-Gon Jinn.
Disillusioned with the corruption of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order's complacency, he embraced the Sith ideology under the tutelage of Darth Sidious (Palpatine). He became Darth Tyranus, a pivotal figure in the Separatist movement, leading the Confederacy of Independent Systems against the Republic during the Clone Wars. Dooku was a skilled duelist and Force user, often battling Jedi Knights such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
