Biography:

Jawas are diminutive scavengers native to the desert planet Tatooine, first appearing in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. They are easily identified by their small stature, cloaked figures, and glowing yellow eyes peering from beneath their brown robes.

These resourceful creatures roam the deserts in large, heavily modified vehicles called sandcrawlers, searching for discarded or malfunctioning technology to salvage. They are known for their bartering skills, often trading captured droids and scrap metal to moisture farmers like Luke Skywalker.

Jawas speak in a high-pitched, chattering language that is largely incomprehensible to most other species, although they understand Basic (English). Their culture revolves around scavenging, repairing, and reselling technology, making them an integral, if somewhat mysterious, part of Tatooine's ecosystem within the Original Trilogy.
