Biography:
Jawas are diminutive scavengers inhabiting the desert planet of Tatooine, first appearing in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), part of the Original Trilogy.
They are characterized by their small stature, cloaked figures, and glowing yellow eyes visible beneath their hoods. These desert dwellers are known for their resourcefulness, collecting discarded technology and scrap metal which they then repair and sell.
Jawas travel in large, treaded vehicles called sandcrawlers. They are often seen capturing droids and selling them to moisture farmers.
Their language consists of a high-pitched, chattering sound, often translated for audiences via subtitles. They are a prominent, albeit minor, presence in the Tatooine sections of the Star Wars universe.
